Day 53 of 90: Perseverance #ASMSG #IARTG #IAN1 #SupportIndieAuthors #Inspiration

As of this moment, I have two wips that are going amazing since I started this. I don’t usually have a hard time writing, but since I started trying to write this before I write the other work, I’ve had an even easier time than normal. That’s not to say it’s easy, just easier than it usually is.

I know I talk all the time about not thinking I would ever write, but it’s the plain and simple truth. I never did think I would write. I was always too concerned with the latest video game, or movie, or even book, that was coming out.

I was constantly using my imagination, but going nowhere fast with it.

I used to lament against the injury that caused me to lose my job as a Certified Nurses Assistant. I used to wake up, upset at the world and railing against what was done to me, instead of doing something about it.

Now I know the difference between the two perspectives. I know I was making the choice to wake up feeling like crap, and that now I make the choice to be happy.

Everyone treats happiness as an emotion, rather than what it is. Happiness is a state of mind. A willingness to look at all the bad in the world and say, “I won’t let you defeat me.” It’s the ability to persevere through the bad times, and hold close to your heart the good.

Tumbled Graves by Brenda Chapman

A child goes missing in this book and that makes me sad.  But the book was compelling and captivating.  I have read other books in this series but this book had great characters.  I was caught up in the story and I wanted to know if they were going to find the child.  * I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*  4/5

12:07 The Sleeping by L. Sydney Abel

Very creepy!!  This was a great horror book.  I don’t find too many that freak me out.  A character with bad nightmares since a very young age. We soon learn why the nightmares and other surprises happen in the book.  I loved the idea of guardians of the underworld and how this is brought into the book and expanded.  The book made me keep coming back to read more.  It was hard to put down.  * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*  4/5

Day 52 of 90: Don’t give up #ASMSG #IARTG #IAN1 #SupportIndieAuthors #Inspiration

I heard from a friend today, one that has grown close over the past few months as a pen pal. He was involved in an accident, and is having problems since then.

It was good to see him though, and I’m sure he’ll be back at a hundred percent soon enough. Still, it brought home some of the things I used to see as a CNA that I never really considered. I have worked with all sorts of patients, suffering from various injuries in accidents. One thing stays true, the accident can change you.

Now, sometimes there are just somethings you cannot control. Physical injuries and handicaps can be particularly had to overcome, if you don’t believe in yourself. And even if you believe in yourself, sometimes things just don’t happen. This is not the time to give up.

You need to work yourself, constantly, to the edge of your ability. The more you use your different functions, the more in tune you’ll grow with them. Think of it this way, if you injure your shoulder, and it has been in a cast for a long time, it takes awhile to rebuild the muscles that control your arm. You need to do stretches, range of motion exercises, and other physical activity in order to get back to where you were before.

There’s so much in life that we take for granted, don’t let your abilities be one of them.

Give It Back by Danielle Esplin

This book kept me interested and guessing till the end!  I think this is a great book.  I loved it. This book changed POV quite often and most of the time, I don’t like this, but I was surprised that is worked well for this author.  She is a great author, I can tell!  I was very impressed with this book.  * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*  5/5

The Knaasts Saga: No Secrets Trilogy complete by Luciana Correa

This was a long read for me.  But I liked it in the end.  I work full time so I don’t feel like I get as much time as I would like to read.  So long books take me so much longer to finish.  This book had some good twists and turns and I was excited by the characters.   Ella was a character I liked.  There was so much in this book, angels and demons and much more.  You need to check out this book and see what you think.  * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*  4/5
