It was a long night last night. Suffered through the night, twisting and turning, trying to find a way to get comfortable, but it proved too difficult.
I decided after a couple hours, that it was time to get productive. I could have wasted my time, lying in bed, waiting for the sun to come up, and suffering with my hurts. I could have popped a few pain pills, and forced myself asleep, but I’d rather get up and do something.
Time isn’t wasted as long as your using it. Started a couple character outlines, planned out a scene for another chapter in a WIP, and now I’m writing to you guys.
Hugh Laurie once said, “It’s a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you’re ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.”
Now applies to now. As in right now. If you have a story to write, a life change you have to make, a person to love, whatever, if you have something to do quit waiting for when you’re “Ready” and do it now. Quit procrastinating, get up off your duff, and get to work. It’s not going to finish itself while you sit here reading.
After all, there’s no time like the present.
