Birth to the Stilldead by Eric Johnsen

What a scary short story for me! I loved it!  I am sure working in a pediatric unit of a hospital is a hard job.  I’m sure I could handle it when things don’t work out well.    This book had me caught up in the moment.  I had no choice but to keep reading.  * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*   5/5

Sky Ghosts: The Night Before by Alexandra Engellmann

This was a great short story. I didn’t know I had missed the character of Pain so much until I started this book.  I love this character.  She is a great one!  The action pieces are great and the writing is great too.  Great job again Alexandra!  * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*  5/5

Jasmine by Ana Elise Meyer

What a great Trilogy!  I was captivated until the very end.  I think you could read this book alone or read it as I did as a trilogy.  The book is suspenseful and full of that power of keeping me wanting to find out what happens next.  I had a great ride with this series.  * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*   5/5

Dead and Damaged by S. L. Eaves

Wow,  this book has lots of action in it!   All I wanted to do on this book was just keep reading.  It was great!  I can’t say enough great things about it.  I enjoyed the characters and the story and everything else, too.  This book has vampires, werewolves, and humans in a great cast of a whirlwind of a book.  * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*  5/5

The Dreamer by Travis McBee

I loved the cover of this book!  It is great and caught my attention right way.   This book kept my interest and to me that is great!  I want to be engaged in a book and this book did that for me as well.  I thought this book was a great idea of what this author maybe capable of in the future.  I would check out more books from this author.  I love horror and thriller books and this book was a little of both for me. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*  4/5

Baby Doll by Hollie Overton

This book to me was a little dark but different from what I read normally. This book could be a little too true to life from reading some headlines in today’s world.  But I enjoyed the book.  I think the story scared me out a little and I like that is a good thriller.  * I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*  4/5

The Last Necromancer by C.J. Archer

This book was interesting.  I enjoyed the little love interest Charlie has and how that grew in the book.  I am curious to see how much it will grow in books to come.  I like the characters but I was surprised by who Charlie’s father was so that was a fun element for me.  I will have to read more of the series to find out more things about each character I hope we will learn more though out the series.  4/5

The Harvesting by Melanie Karsak

I enjoyed this book very much.  It first when the book start down the Zombie path, I thought I would not like it because I feel Zombies are a bit over done.  But I loved it!  I want to read more of the series.  The Narrator did a great job as well.  I love how there voices change with each character and I must say Layla was my favorite.  But I loved everything about this book and all the other characters and all of Layla’s friends as well.  I am excited to read book 2. “This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBoom dot com.”  5/5

Gilt Hollow by Lorie Langdon

I enjoyed this book.  I think it is a great book for my teenage niece.  I enjoyed the characters and story.  I don’t know how I would handle being the best friend of a killer.  But is Ashton Keller a killer?  It was a good book for me.  *I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.*  4/5

I refuse to believe. #ChooseLove

I refuse to believe.

I refuse to believe that a man making a silent protest is something to get up in arms about. The history of this country is riddled with great men and women making a stand like this, in a peaceful way. If you listen to to the man he does not want to disrespect anyone, he only wishes to call further attention to people he feels don’t have a voice. I cannot slam him for using his platform to bring attention to an issue that he believes in. The same as I can’t really call down anyone giving him a hard time for his choices. Just as he is free to practice his freedom of speech by refusing to stand, they are allowed to say and feel however they want as well. So I find myself stuck in the middle, trying to make both sides see the other one. An interesting place.

I refuse to believe that either of the candidates running for POTUS want to do the United States of America harm Neither one of them is after the downfall of our society, and they are only doing what they feel is best. I may not agree with it, I may not like it, but I don’t think either one of them are evil. Maybe we should quit treating them like they are.

I refuse to believe that every police officer in America is looking for people to kill. We need to stop vilifying those who are meant to serve and protect, as they are just trying to do their jobs in most cases. I’m sure they only want to go home and love their families, the same as you do. And if we could treat each other with respect and integrity, we wouldn’t need their services in the first place.

I refuse to believe that every black man is a thug. Most of the people I know that dress like thugs would be too afraid of getting their clothes dirty to do thug things. People need to relax and realize we’re all part of the same race.

I don’t know answers to what ails our society, but I do know we need to start to love one another. Quit trying to drown out other voices, because you don’t like what they have to say. Listen once you’ve had your piece. Discuss the situation and come to an amicable conclusion. This is what we used to do as a society, or so I thought.

I’m not going to tell you how you should think or act. I’m not going to tell you that people are great and we’re always nice to each other. We should be, but the truth is, we’re all assholes at one point or another.
All I’m going to do is ask you to start to #ChooseLove. If you’ve already started, keep doing it. I’m afraid of the path I see my homeland heading upon, but we can change it. All it takes is a willingness to listen to one another and an effort to #ChooseLove. I hope the rest of the world starts to join in soon.
